Give him something to chew
Now this should be no surprise that dogs love to chew. And some of them love chewing so much that you fill find or sofa chewn by the time your return home from work. And hence providing enough things that your dog can chew happily is a much better outcome than sleeping in a torn up bed.
Let your dog play with other animals
Now this is not surprise as social animals love being social. So let your dog mingle with other dogs and play with them. Of course you would have to be a little careful that playing does not quickly escalate into a fight. A good way out would be to find out that neighbour whose dog likes your dog.
